Passengers today had a tough time as Kolkata metro services were suspended for nearly two hours due to a technical glitch at Park Street station.
"Metro services started at 6.45 AM from Kavi Subhas Metro station. But after the train entered Park Street station, flashes were seen coming out from cables near the platform. The passengers were evacuated and electricians were called to check the cables," an official of Metro Railway said.
"We plied the metro services from Dum Dum to Central station and from Kavi Subhas to Tollygunge. But in the other stations, we had suspended the services as we conducted a thorough check up of those cable lines," the officer said.
The services resumed after 9.55 AM, he said.
