Diabetes and Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) are two common diseases prevalent among women in India, especially those living in metropolitan cities, a recent survey has found.
The survey conducted by Mumbai-based Metropolis Healthcare Ltd on women living in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata revealed a rise in the two diseases among youngsters.
A significant number of women within the age group of 20 to 30 years were diagnosed with TSH, the survey revealed.

Over 48.63 per cent women fell in the age group 20 to 30 years indicating an alarming trend of younger population being diagnosed with symptoms of Hyper and Hypothyroidism.
The survey was released on the eve of 'International day of action for women's health' observing the common diseases which affect women population in the country.
The survey also reported that a significant number of youngsters examined in the national capital showed the signs of high diabetes.
Out of 4,712 samples tested for Diabetes (Hb1ac), 52.22 per cent reported high diabetes levels. Women within the age group of 40 to 60 years showed greater symptoms of acquiring the disease.
