Diploma programmes on film technology offered by the MGR Government Film and Television Institute will be changed to bachelors degree courses, Tamil Nadu Minister for Information K T Rajenthrabhalaji told the Assembly today.
Making a series of announcements for his department, he said "Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered that diploma programmes for film technology be changed as bachelors degree courses."
Also, part-time courses would be started at the institute on self-financing mode, he said.

Modern gadgets for use by students of the institute would be procured through outsourcing at Rs.75 lakh, he said.
On State-run Tamil Arasu magazine, he said it would be digitized at a cost of Rs.25 lakh and a digital printer would be procured for it at Rs.25 lakh.
