MHA seeks report from Maha govt on IT techie killing in Pune

The Centre today sought a report from the Maharashtra government on the killing of an IT professional in Pune.

The Home Ministry told the state government to convey the circumstances leading to the death of the young professional, steps being taken to nab the culprits and strengthen the security in the city, official sources said.

Mohasin Shaikh, 28, a resident of Bankar Colony in Hadapsar, was bludgeoned to death with hockey sticks allegedly by a group of men with links to Hindu Rashtra Sena(HRS) during protests after an objectionable post was uploaded on Facebook by unknown people which denigrated warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji and Shiv Sena chief late Bal Thackeray.
 

Police today arrested four more of its activists, taking the total arrests in the case to 17.
