The Madras High Court Advocates Association decided to abstain from court proceedings tomorrow over alleged refusal of the Chief Justice to meet office- bearers who went to submit a copy of a resolution to him.

Association President R C Paul Kanagaraj said their demand was that for a single list of names to fill up vacancies of High Court Judges and equal representation to all communities in the recommendation of names.

He also said that the Association should be consulted before finalizing the list.

Kanakaraj said the office bearers wanted to apprise the CJ on these matters and hand over a copy of the resolution passed by it in person.

The MHAA president alleged that the CJ refused to meet them, forcing them to take a decision to abstain from court proceedings on Wednesday.
