Maharashtra's town planning department has asked the Nashik district administration to ensure all necessary facilities during the Kumbh mela here in July, in view of the expected heavy rush of devotees.
The Kumbh mela will be held at the holy Trimbakeshwar town of Nashik in mid-July.
All necessary facilities should be provided in various parts of the city. Considering the rainy season in July, enough temporary sheds should also be set up for the convenience of the visiting devotees during the event, town planning department's principal secretary Manisha Mhaiskar said during a review meeting of the Kumbh mela works at the Divisional Commissioner's office here on Wednesday.

She also told the officials to take proper health precautions for the devotees as the mela is scheduled during the rainy season and to complete the works of roads leading to the river basin, an official release said.
She asked the concerned officials to conduct a proper survey of the expected crowd and also put in place necessary disaster management measures.
Later, Mhaiskar alongwith senior officials inspected the areas where the Kumbh mela-related events would be held.
Nashik Divisional Commissioner Eknath Davle, Commissioner of Police K K Sarangal, Collector Vilas Patil, Nashik Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr Praven Gedam and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
