"Miami Vice" is the latest series which is getting a reboot treatment.

NBC is reportedly planning to revive the popular '80s police procedural, with "Fast and Furious" duo Vin Diesel and Chris Morgan as producers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two will executive produce alongside Ainsley Davis and Shana Waterman.

Meanwhile, Peter Macmanus is set to pen the script for the project.

Universal Television will produce the project.

Created by Anthony Yerkovich and executive-produced by Michael Mann, the original series ran for five seasons on NBC from 1984 to 1989.

Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas starred as two undercover detectives James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs. The show followed the two taking on challenging cases at Miami's Metro-Date Police Department.

In 2006, Universal released a spin-off feature film of the same name with Mann both directing and writing.

The movie tapped Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell to play the main roles.
