Mian Abdul Qayoom, who was recently questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a terror funding case, has been re-elected as the president of the Kashmir High Court Bar Association.
He was re-elected president of the Bar Association yesterday for the 19th time, a spokesman of the association said here today.
"Qayoom won over advocate Nazir Ahmad Roonga by a margin of 222 votes. He got 464 out of the total votes polled, while Roonga bagged 242 votes," the spokesman said.

His summoning had led to lawyers strike for many days in the Valley.
Qayoom's name had cropped up during the interrogation of some of those arrested by the probe agency in connection with the case.
