"Creed" star Michael B Jordan has been tapped to star in the film adaptation of "Fahrenheit 451".

Based on Ray Bradbury's classic novel, the TV film depicts a future where media is an opiate, history is outlawed and "firemen" burn books, reported Variety.

Jordan will also be joined by "Nocturnal Animals" star Michael Shannon in the film.

While, the "Fantastic Four" actor will play Montag, a young fireman who forsakes his world, battles his mentor and struggles to regain his humanity, Shannon will essay the role of Montag's fireman captain and mentor, Beatty.

Though in early development, sources said the project is moving toward a production commitment at HBO.
