Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger may have been aware of girlfriend L'Wren Scott's deep depression when he listed her among family members whose deaths would force concert cancellations.
Insurance underwriters who are trying to avoid paying USD 12.7 million to Jagger, 76, claim the late fashion designer had a pre-existing suicidal condition.
"Her friends knew she was cripplingly depressed. It is my understanding she refused to take antidepressants," Phoebe Eaton, who investigated Scott's death for British GQ, said.

Scott, 49, had been posting disturbing thoughts on her Facebook page, all of which were removed after her death.
Among the posts was a photo of 'The Birds' director Alfred Hitchcock strangling a goose she captioned "#fashionmoment."
Jagger's representative are yet to comment on it.
