Micromax expands footprint into accessories segment

Electronics major Micromax today announced its foray into the accessories segment.

In the next few weeks, Micromax will introduce products including sound bars, bluetooth speakers, earphones and power banks, Micromax said in a statement.

"India is one of the fastest-growing mobile phone markets in the world and consumers today are spending a lot their time with the smartphones, fuelling demand for mobile accessories," Micromax Vice President Consumer Electronics Rohan Agarwal said.

The market currently is highly unorganised and estimates suggest that it could be to the tune of USD 1 billion.

* Intex appoints S P Subramanian as AVP Sales (Mobile)
 

Electronics major Intex today said it has appointed S P Subramanian as Assistant Vice President - Sales (Mobile) to further strengthen its mobile business.

In his new role, Subramanian will handle sales of Intex's mobile division nationally.

"I am confident with his vast experience in mobile industry, has the required expertise to help the organisation grow further, contributing to the company's vision of bringing innovative products and taking it to the next level," Intex Chairman and Managing Director Narendra Bansal said.

Subramanian has nearly 25 years of experience and has worked with firms like MPS Telecom (HTC Mobiles), LAVA International and MTS (Sistema Shyam) in the past.

* Marthesh Nagendra named Netgear Country Manager India &SAARC

Global networking firm Netgear today said it has appointed Marthesh Nagendra as Country Manager for India and SAARC region.

Nagendra will spearhead new growth initiatives, focus on streamlining channel structure and partner base, enhancing quality of customer service and expanding retail presence including branded offline and online stores, Netgear said in a statement.

* Ziox partners Reverie to power smartphones

Ziox Mobile has partnered Reverie Language Technologies to deploy the latter's language-based mobile solutions on its smartphones.

"Ziox Mobile's upcoming phone models are expected to come pre-stalled with Reverie's language apps," it said in a statement.
