The body of a middle-aged woman, working as a caretaker of an NGO, was recovered from the third-floor of a building in the central part of the city this morning.
Kabita Roy (46) was found dead in a pool of blood with a gamcha (handloom towell) tied around her neck and head smashed with a blunt object in the third floor of a building housing Durbar, an NGO for sex workers, on 12/5 Nilmoni Mitra Street in Bartola Police Station limits, police said.
In fact, the two teenage girls, rescued from a red light area a couple of days back, who were kept in a room on the third floor of the building, were missing, they said.

Initial probe into the mishap showed that the locks of the three gates were not broken and going by the officer said," It's still unclear whether the victim knew the person or number of persons who visited the place or not.
In fact, sleuths were not giving up the possibility of the two teenagers, residents of Bangaon in North 24 Parganas to overpower the woman and killing her before fleeing.
