An auxiliary nursing midwife posted at a health sub-centre in Dodi village of the district has been arrested by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 from an ASHA worker.
Bhanwari Sen was arrested from her rented accommodation yesterday, Gyanchand Meena, Circle In charge (CI), ACB Baran, said.
The midwife had demanded the bribe from Roshan Meena, local Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), for attesting a billing amount of Rs 10,000. Meena was awarded the amount having secured successful cases in family planning camps in the area, he said.

"The complainant was going to submit the bills of her award amounts for the last two years," the official said.
Meena had lodged a report in this connection with the ACB on August 28 and following the verification of the complaint, a trap was laid out last evening, the CI said.
The accused would be produced before the ACB court here later in the day, he added.
