Bollywood singer Mika Singh has promised to build a house for two of the contestants of his musical reality TV show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa".

Mika, who is a mentor on the show, was inspired by the journey of two contestants - Hashmat and Sultana - the sisters from Hoshiarpur in Punjab.

Hailing from an underprivileged family, both the aspiring singers had not been able to afford a formal vocal training, but landed in Delhi for the auditions of the show.

On hearing that Hashmat and Sultana stayed in a single room house with six other family members, Mika promised to build a new house for them.

"Yes, I have promised to build a house for Hashmat-Sultana. It is very unfortunate that owing to the adverse monetary conditions, budding singers like them are not able to continue their training in music," he said in a statement.

"Being from the same industry and making a living off my musical talent, this is the least I can do for people who are genuinely talented but can't pursue their dreams due to financial difficulties," Mika said.

The "Mauja Hi Mauja" singer also gifted his expensive watch to a show contestant and has promised to gift a bike to contestant Deepak, if he makes it to the top 12.

The show, which airs on Zee TV, also features music composers Pritam Chakravorty and Sajid-Wajid as mentors.
