Mild earthquake in North Bengal

A mild earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter Scale was felt in all North Bengal districts this evening, the MeT office said.

There was no report of any casualty or damage to property in the quake which occurred at 6.35pm, head of MeT department in Sikkim, Gopinath Raha said.

The epicentre of the quake was 20km below ground along the Bihar-Bengal border at 26.5 degree North and 88.2 degree West, he said.
