Mild quake hits parts of Nashik

An earthquake of 3.2

magnitude was registered in the tribal-dominated districts of the state, officials said.

The tremors were felt in Surgana, Kalwan, Devla and Baglan areas in the district around 7.21 PM yesterday, the geology section of Maharashtra Engineering Research Institute (MERI) told here today.

"Though some houses developed cracks in Jaidar, Kathyadigar, Zirwale and Lingayat areas, no loss of life or damage to property was reported as it was a low intensity quake," sources in MERI said.

The epicentre of the tremors not yet known, officials said.
