In an effort to promote running as a sport in the country, actor and celebrity runner Milind Soman will participate in the Great India Run scheduled to be held from the July 17th to 6th August.
'Ironman' Soman will cover a distance of 570 kms from Ahmedabad to Mumbai via Silvassa beginning on July 27th.
15 of the best Ultra Marathoners from India and the world would participate in the six state run which will include Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Mahrashtra and Delhi covering a total distance of 1480 kms.

The 50-year-old was happy that Silvassa, the capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, will be a part of the special route that he will be running.
"I am happy to hear that The Great India Run will pass through Silvassa. It will create a lot of excitement for endurance running in the region and personally, I am looking forward to running in that beautiful place," said Soman.
ProSportify & MobieFit plan to make 'The Great India Run' an annual event to contribute to the cause of developing and supporting the endeavours of future Olympians every year by donating the revenues to a charitable trust for sports development.
