Army troops have caught a cadre cadre of the Kuki Unification Frontal Organisation from Senapati district of Manipur.
Troops of the Jwalamukhi battalion under Red Shield Division apprehended the KUFO cadre in an operation carried out on July 31.
Army officials said that there was intelligence input on the movement of a cadre in the Motbung area with an intention to carryout extortion.
On questioning it was revealed that he had joined the banned organisation in January 2016 after which he was trained for three months.
The apprehended cadre was handed over to a police station in Saparmaina for further investigation.
