Militant hideout busted in Jammu's Ramban district

Security forces today busted a militant hideout in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir and recovered a cache of explosives and ammunition.

The Rashtriya Rifles troops of Counter Insurgency Force Delta based at Dharmund alongwith Special Operations Group personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint operation in Kaskot forests of Banihal Tehsil of Ramban on receiving specific information of a militant hideout, s Defence spokesman said.

A Pika rifle, an AK 56 riffle with five magazines, 553 AK-47 ammunition, two UBGL and Chinese grenades, two radio sets, one RPG, three binoculars and other war materials were recovered from the hideout, he said.
 

"Recovery of such a large cache due to relentless efforts of both Rashtriya Rifles and Police", he said.

This recovery has further improved the overall security situation in the region, he said, adding, the General Officer Commanding, Delta Force congratulated the troops for success of the operation.
