Militant hideout busted in Sopore in J&K, arms cache seized

Security forces today busted a militant hideout in Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition including 33 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and 44 grenades.

A search operation was launched in the forest area of Sagipora, falling under Sopore police area, following information about presence of a militant hideout there, a police official said.

He said during the search operation, a hideout was busted and large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered.

The recoveries included 33 IEDs, 44 grenades three UBGL, 4.5 kg gunpowder, eight detonators and seven safety fuses, the official said.
 

Four AK rifles, 15 magazines, 756 AK rounds, three pistols and 19 pistol rounds were also recovered from the hideout, he added.
