Militants tonight fired at a police vehicle in Nowgam area of Srinagar but no one was hurt in the attack that caused panic among the residents and passers by.
"Militants fired upon a bunker vehicle of police at Nowgam at 8.45 pm but there was no loss of life in the incident," a police official said.
He said the firing caused panic among the residents of Nowgam and adjoining areas as passers by at the busy city intersection ran towards safety.
Traffic was briefly suspended on the Parimpora-Pantha Chowk by pass road following the attack, he added.
