In the first incident, a bomb planted at the Motorway Interchange in Peshawar was triggered by remote control as a police van was passing the area this afternoon.

The van escaped the blast, which damaged two other vehicles.

Six persons, all passers-by and people in other cars, were injured by the blast.

People took the injured to a nearby hospital in private vehicles.

In the second incident, militants lobbed two grenades at a police van in Sarband area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

One grenade exploded while the other did not go off, officials said.

No one was hurt in the attack.

No group claimed responsibility for both attacks though such incidents are usually blamed on the Taliban.
