A milk vendor was crushed to death by a speeding truck near Veer Kuer Singh chowk under Dehri police station area of Bihar's Rohtas district.
Dehri-on-Sone police station SHO said that the deceased has been identified as Ambika Yadav (35) who was a resident of Khairaha village.
Local people blocked the Grand Trunk road for several hours which was cleared by the police and civil administration after pacifying them, SHO said.
On the directive of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Gautam Kumar, Block Development Officer (BDO) Ram Pukar Yadav handed over a cheque for Rs 20,000 to the deceased's family.
The body has been sent to Sasaram sadar hospital for post-mortem, he said.
