Director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra says his upcoming film 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is not just a sports film but shows the entire journey of ledendary athlete Milkha Singh.

"It's not a film about a sportsperson or is a sports film. The film is about an Indian, the love for his country, the passion to make his country win a match. And it happened to be Milkha Singh," Mehra told reporters here at the trailer and music launch of the film.

"Here is a boy who lost his family at the age of 12 but still he wanted to do something for his country. This human story attracted me, not the records, which were an added bonus," the director said.

There were reports saying the film has been banned in Pakistan but Mehra said film will release in the neighbouring country.

"We are the first people to get an invitation from Pakistan to showcase the film. The film will very much release there. In fact today only we got three offers from Pakistan on releasing the film," Mehra said.

Starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor, the film is slated to release on July 12.
