Millgate sugar ends lower on ample stocks

Prices of millgate sugar closed lower at the wholesale market in the national capital today on adequate stocks position following persistent supplies from millers amid subdued demand from bulk consumers and retailers.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position on persistent supplies from millers against reduced offtake by bulk consumers such as ice-cream and soft-drinks maker, mainly kept pressure on millgate sugar prices.

In the millgate section, Asmoli, Dorala, Budhana and Thanabhvan traded lower at Rs 2,375, Rs 2,365, Rs 2,365 and Rs 2,355 against last close of Rs 2,390, Rs 2,370, Rs 2,370 and Rs 2,360 per quintal respectively.

Dhanora, Simbholi, Khatuli and Dhampur also fell to Rs 2,390,Rs 2,380, Rs 2,380 and Rs 2,315 from previous levels of Rs 2,400, Rs 2,395, Rs 2,395 and Rs 2,340 per quintal respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 26.00-31.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,410-2,580 S-30 Rs 2,400-2,570.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,315-2,445 S-30 Rs 2,300-2,425.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,370, Kinnoni Rs 2,445, Asmoli Rs 2,375, Dorala Rs 2,365, Budhana Rs 2,365, Thanabhavan Rs 2,355, Dhanora Rs 2,390, Simbholi Rs 2,380, Modi Nagar Rs 2,345, Khatuli Rs 2,380, Dhampur 2,315, Ramala Rs 2,380, Bulandshaher Rs 2,370, Anupshaher Rs 2,370, Baghpat Rs 2,380, Morna Rs 2,390, Sakoti Rs 2,335, Chandpur Rs 2,360, Nazibabad Rs 2,360 and Malakpur 2,315.
