Congress MLA Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Asaduddin Owaisi-led MIM which he said has taken a "contract" from ruling BJP to divide Muslim votes in Maharashtra.
Addressing an election rally for a Congress candidate for upcoming municipal council polls, the former minister said, "MIM has pitched its candidates in Muslim-dominated areas to divide Muslim votes, which will benefit the saffron alliance."
Khan alleged that Owaisi has neglected his own constituency of Old Hyderabad.
"Go and see heaps of garbage in his constituency. People of Old Hyderabad are deprived of even basic amenities whereas Owaisi is coming to Maharashtra and is inciting youths..And dividing people by making emotive speeches," he said.
Khan alleged that Devendra Fadnavis government was neglecting minority. "The Fadnavis government scrapped reservation in education for Muslims despite the High Court order," he added.
