The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) won seven Assembly seats in Telangana with the party's president and Hyderabad sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi also retaining his Lok Sabha seat.
Asaduddin defeated his nearest rival, BJP candidate Bhagavanta Rao, by more than two lakh votes.
Akbaruddin Owaisi (Chandrayangutta), the younger brother of Asaduddin, was among the winners for his party. This happens to be Akbaruddin's fourth consecutive victory in Assembly polls since 1999.
