Min temp continue to hover above normal in Punjab, Haryana

The minimum temperatures today continued to hover above normal in Punjab and Haryana including their joint capital Chandigarh.

Chandigarh's minimum temperature hovered seven notches above normal at 16.2 degree Celsius, the MeT Department report said here.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low temperature of 15.8 degree Celsius, seven degrees above normal.

Hisar's minimum settled six notches above normal at 16.4 degree Celsius while Karnal recorded a low of 14.4 degree Celsius, up by five notches than normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degree Celsius, three notches above normal.

Patiala registered a minimum of 15 degree Celsius, five degrees above normal while Ludhiana's low settled at 14.7 degree Celsius, also up by five degrees.
 

The maximum temperatures recorded in the states have also been on the rise during the past few days, settling in the range of 24-27 degrees Celsius at most places yesterday.

Light to moderate rain and thundershower have been forecast at isolated places in the two neighboring states until tomorrow.
