Min temp remains below normal in Punjab, Haryana

The minimum temperature in most parts of Punjab and Haryana remained below normal today with Amritsar being the coldest place after recording a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius.

The mercury hovered between one degree below normal to five notches above normal in the region, the MeT office said.

While Karnal in Haryana recorded a low of 6.8 degrees Celsius, the minimum at Ludhiana was 9 degrees Celsius, it said.

Among other places, Hisar settled at a low of 9.6 degrees followed by 10.4 degrees at Patiala and 10.9 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh.

The MeT forecast thundershowers at isolated places in the region during the next 48 hours.
