Nisha Ganatra, who has directed episodes of "Transparent" and "The Mindy Project", has been tapped to helm Fox 2000's "Late Night".

The film, starring Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson, centers on latter's character, a late-night talk show host who's at risk of losing her long-running show when she hires her first female writer (Kaling), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Scott Rudin is producing the film along with Kaling and Howard Klein. Ganatra came on board after Paul Feig dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.
