Mini-truck hijacked on Moga-Ludhiana highway

A gang of five unidentified persons allegedly hijacked a mini-truck carrying cattle on Moga-Ludhiana highway near Ajitwal, police said here today.

The gang stopped the vehicle moving towards Ludhiana late last night and allegedly beat up the driver, Tirath Singh, before leaving him at a grain market near Khosa Randhir village of the district, they said.

Singh, who was carrying five buffaloes to a fair in Ludhiana, told police that the gang members came in a jeep.

A case has been registered and an investigation is on, a police officer said.
