Minimum temperature stay below normal in Punjab, Haryana

The minimum temperature today remained a few notches below the normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT department said today, as dense fog hit vehicular movement at several places in the states.

Narnaul in Haryana and Amritsar in Punjab recorded the lowest temperatures at 4 degrees Celsius, two notches below the normal, officials said.

Hisar braved cold weather at 6.1 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, while Karnal's minimum was 7 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal. Ambala had a low of 9.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, registered a minimum of 6.6 degrees Celsius.
 

In Punjab, the minimum temperature of Ludhiana and Patiala was 4.2 and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

Dense fog affected normal life and hit vehicular movement at several places in Haryana and Punjab.

The MeT department has predicted moderate to dense fog at many places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 48 hours.
