Several parts of Himachal Pradesh were today lashed by high velocity winds accompanied by sharp showers, causing a drop in minimum temperatures in several parts of the state.
The sky remained heavily overcast in Shimla, Kullu Chamba and other parts of the state, and saw strong winds followed by intermittent rains.
Tourist resorts of Dalhousie and Manali received 13 mm and 11 mm of rain respectively, while Tissa had 12 mm rains, followed by Kalpa 10 mm, Bhuntar 5 mm, Saloni and Udaipur 5 mm, and Baijnath and Dehra Gopipur 4 mm.
Minimum temperatures dropped by three to four degrees, with Keylong in the tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recording a low of 1.4 degree, while Kalpa and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at 3.4 degrees and 4.2 degrees, followed by Shimla at 10.6 degrees Celsius.
Maximum day temperatures dropped to 12.6 degrees and 9.0 degrees at Manali and Kalpa after rains while Una in the lower hills was hottestin the region with a high of 35 degrees.
Nahan recorded maximum temperature at 32.0 degree, followed by Sundernagar 26.6 degrees, Dharamsala 25.8 degrees, Solan 25.0 degrees, Bhuntar 21.2 degrees, Shimla 20.4 degrees, Manali 12.6 degreesand Kalpa 9.0 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has forecast dry weather in the region over next three days. Rains, thundershowers or snow at isolated places in lower, mid and higher hills have also been forecast for three days starting April 15.
