The minimum temperatures today hovered around normal levels in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, with the MeT here saying they are set to rise over the next few days.

Amritsar again turned out to be the coldest place in the two states recording a minimum temperature of 7.8 deg C, which was within the normal range, the MeT said.

Ludhiana recorded a low of 9.6 deg C while Patiala's low at 11 deg C settled a degree above normal.

In Haryana, Hisar's low settled at 11.4 deg C, up one notch while Karnal recorded a low of 9.8 deg C.

Bhiwani and Ambala registered minimum temperatures of 10.6 deg C and 12.1 deg C respectively.

Chandigarh's minimum rose by over a notch since yesterday to settle at 11.4 deg C.

While the maximum temperatures have been steadily rising during the past one week, the minimum temperatures, too, are set to rise in the coming days, a MeT official said.
