Minimum temperatures rise above normal in Pb, Haryana

Cold conditions today prevailed in Punjab and Haryana even as minimum temperatures hovered a few notches above normal level in most parts of both states.

Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, braved cold weather at 7.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, as per MeT department report.

In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their minimums at 7.2 degrees Celsius, 6.9 degrees Celsius and 8.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, up to three notches above normal.

In neighbouring Haryana, minimum temperatures in Ambala, Hisar and Karnal settled at 8.5 degrees Celsius, 9.4 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius, two degrees each above normal.
 

Mist and shallow fog occurred at several places in both the states.
