Minimum temperatures rise in Punjab & Haryana

Minimum temperatures today soared by several notches above normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, giving relief to people from the cold conditions.

Union territory Chandigarh, joint capital of the two states, recorded a low of 14.5 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal limits, a MeT Department official said here.

In Haryana, Ambala registered a low of 15.1 degrees, six degrees above normal while Hisar had a low of 12.6 degrees, two notches above normal.

Among other places in the state, Karnal and Narnaul recorded their minimums at 13.4 and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, up to six notches above normal.
 

In Punjab, Amritsar registered a low of 12.2 degrees, up five notches while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimum of 15.5 degrees and 13.5 degrees Celsius, up to seven notches above normal, the MeT official said.
