Expressing shock over the killing of a cop in Alwar district allegedly by mining mafia, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Sachin Pilot today claimed that mining mafia was active in Rajasthan.

"One policeman Lakhoram who went to inspect the illegal mining and transportation was crushed to death allegedly by a tractor-trolley loaded with stones at Badika village of Kathumar Tehsil in Alwar district yesterday, it is shocking", Pilot said in a statement here.

In last 23 months, the illegal mining expanded tremendously in the state, and the mining scam involving a senior IAS Officer and seven others busted by ACB in September was itself self-explanatory, Pilot alleged.

Mining mafia was not only exploiting the natural resources of the state but also causing revenue loss to the state exchequer, Pilot alleged.
