An official of a mining transport company allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the office at Hospet today, holding financial woes caused by stoppage of mining responsible for his extreme step.

The company Manager Gopalkrishna Nair, hailing from Kerala, had left a suicide note, saying he had huge debt burden as a result of ban on mining, police said.
