With police remaining clueless of the whereabouts of NHPC General Manager Anil Kumar Agarwal 18 days after his abduction, Arunachal Pradesh Power Minister Tanga Byaling today appealed to the kidnappers for his early release.

"I appeal to the organisation which claims responsibility of kidnapping and confinement of Anil Agarwal for his early release without precondition considering his ill health," Byaling said in a statement here.

"Agarwal is suffering from severe asthma, hypertension and diabetes and his long detention may have severe impact on his health," he said.

Agarwal was abducted by suspected NDFB(S) militants from 12 Mile area in Assam's Sonitpur district on September 21 when he was on his way to Guwahati from Tawang.
