Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla today advocated for result-oriented implementation of all schemes meant for minorities.

She said state governments have to play an active role to ensure that the schemes meant to improve the lives of minorities reach the genuine beneficiaries, an official statement said.

Heptulla said this here at a meeting with Madhya Pradesh Minorities Welfare Minister Antar Singh Aarya, who also sought that a new programme, Upgradation of Skills and Training in Ancestral Arts/Crafts for Development (USTAD), be launched from the state, sources said.

She said new ideas should be woven into traditional crafts under skill development programmes to enhance marketability of the skills and products.

Heptulla emphasised that priority should be given to preservation and promotion of traditional arts and crafts of the state, and called for creating more awareness among minorities about their rights.
