Minister inspects railway stations in AP

He was accompanied by G N Asthana, General Manager, and other officials of South Central Railway (SCR), an official release said.

Reddy, who started his inspection with Secunderabad station, had a close look at various passenger amenities provided there and also held discussions on the plans to enhance these.

He visited Platform numbers 1 and 10 and had a thorough look at the station buildings, cleanliness, waiting halls, works pertaining to lifts / escalators under progress, drinking water, catering and toilet facilities, cloak rooms and booking counters on these platforms, the release said.

He suggested to display the details on coach indication boards in local Telugu language and inspected sleeper class coaches of Falaknuma Express as well.

 

Later, he visited Kacheguda Railway Station and inspected the cleanliness of the station premises and various passenger amenities provided there.

The Union Minister visited Hyderabad Station, where he inspected the apron works on platform numbers 4 / 5.

The minister expressed his satisfaction on the cleanliness, the scale of provision and maintenance of various passenger amenities at these three stations, the release said.

At the Secunderabad Railway Station, Reddy told reporters that the railways accords top priority to providing the best possible passenger amenities in coaches and at stations for the convenience of passengers.

Towards this, he announced that lifts and escalators will soon be provided at Secunderabad and Kacheguda stations and escalators at Hyderabad station.
