Assam Revenue and Disaster Management minister Pallab Lochan Das today reviewed the disaster management preparedness of the state.
The Minister instructed the concerned officials to prepare a clear road map to tackle floods before the rainy season starts, an official release said.
The Minister also directed the officials to mark the vulnerable areas and ensure measures in these areas to face any natural calamities.
He also directed the officials to be in touch with the Water Resource department to take stock of the prevailing conditions of embankments in the vulnerable areas.
He also warned officials that those not carrying out their duties should be strongly dealt with as per the provisions of the law, the release added.
