Ministers, parl secs to visit violence-hit areas

Revenue Minister Prithibi Majhi, Planning Minister Tanka Bahadur Rai and Social Welfare Minister Akan Bora left for Bongaigaon today and would visit Bodoland Territorial Area Districts tommorrow, an official release said.

Agriculture minister Nilomoni Sen Deka visited parts of Barpeta and Nalbari districts, which are contiguous to BTAD, during the day, while Transport minister Chandan Brahma is currently camping in Chirang.

Education and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited Dhubri and Bongaigaon districts and would leave for Kokrajhar tomorrow.

Environmenat and Forest minister Rockybul Hussain, who is touring Kokrajhar and Chirang, visited Salakati and Gosaigaon, two of the troubled spots in Kokrajhar district, during the day, the release said.

 

Parliamentary secretaries Bhupen Bora and Rana Goswami are scheduled to leave for Kokrajhar and Chirang tomorrow, it added.
