Ministers in the second term of the Mamata Banerjee government today started working from their offices.
After being sworn-in as ministers last Friday, the Chief Minister had alloted portfolios on the same day during a cabinet meeting.
New state Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari took charge at his Paribahan Bhawan office in central Kolkata, while Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee, who is also the fire and emergency services minister, joined his office from the fire department office.

He was also felicitated at the Kolkata Municipal Corporation amid a boycott by the Opposition.
In the new secretariat building, state power minister Sovandeb Chatterjee took charge.
Prominent among others who joined today were former cricketer turned Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Information Technology and Electronics Minister Bratya Basu, Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, Disaster Management Minister Javed Khan and Agriculture Minister Purnendu Basu.
The ministers were busy preparing themselves for the administrative review meeting, which will be held on June 3 and chaired by the Chief Minister.

The prime minister and the council of ministers lauded Economic Affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das for giving an exhaustive presentation on implementation of various schemes in the last two years.
Das gave an exhaustive power point presentation and report on implementation of Modi government schemes and revenue spent on them.
The prime minister also said that he has witnessed the longest ever presentation by a secretary before the council of ministers.
