Minor abducted, raped in Maharashtra

A 15-year-old minor girl, who was abducted along with her brother, was allegedly raped by a youth here, police said today.

The girl and her eight-year-old brother were allegedly kidnapped from city's Sonegaon area on Tuesday noon by a 23-year-old youth from Bheemwadi area, Kamptee, police said in a press release.

The two children were taken to a secluded place and later the boy was dropped near his house by someone, but his sister was held captive and raped by the accused. She was later released.

On a complaint filed by the girl's parents, a case under section 363 (kidnap) and 376 (rape) of IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Assault Act, 2012 has been lodged in this connection, it said.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Ujjwal Magar, the alleged

mastermind of the crime, was remanded in police custody till December 9, while the five minors were sent to remand home.

Magar, is a student of an English medium school and resident of Cidco's Ashwin Nagar locality.

In a related development, BJP MLA from Nashik, Seema Hiray and party workers, who visited Ambad police station urged cops to take strict action against the guilty.
