An 8-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by his neighbour in Kalyan taluka here, district rural police said today.
The incident took place yesterday following which the 20-year-old accused was arrested late last night, they said.
Both the accused and the victim are residents of Kanderigaon in Kalyan.
According to police, the accused lured the child to his house on the pretext of playing with him and then sexually abused him.
The boy narrated his ordeal to parents, who registered a complaint with Kalyan police last night.
The accused was booked under section 377 of the IPC and also sections 3 and 6 of the POCSO Act and subsequently arrested.
