A 10-year-old boy from Sahibganj in Jharkhand who fled his home fearing punishment by his father was today found in Kalyan, police said.
"A police patrol team spotted the boy alone by the roadside near the historical Durgadi Fort at Durgadi locality of Kalyan in the wee hours," Inspector Dileep Suryavanshi of Kalyan Bazarpeth police station told PTI.
"The boy, a second grade student, said he was a resident of Sahibganj and studying in an English medium school," the officer said.

The boy claimed he left home as he would be beaten up by his father for mistakingly breaking a glass case in their sweet shop, Suryavanshi said.
"The boy fled the house and went to the railway station only to board a mail express train and he even did not know where the train was headed to. After a day or two, the train stopped at Thane and the boy alighted from the train only to be surrounded by some boys who took him with them," said the official.
One of the boys wanted him to join their group and carry out theft during the Navratri festival, Suryanshi added.
However, the boy refused and somehow got out of their gang. Before being spotted by police, the boy spent a couple of days on the street, the officer said, adding his parents are being contacted.
