Minor Dalit girl raped by youth in Rajasthan

A six-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Kalakhedi village in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan, police said today.

The incident is alleged to have taken place last evening when the girl was playing outside. The 19-year-old took her to an isolated place and raped her, Sunial SHO Bhanwar Singh said.

The girl later narrated the ordeal to her parents who complained to the police following which the youth was booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, he said.
 

The accused is a resident of neighbouring Pawkhedi village and a search is on to nab him, Singh said.

The girl was admitted to SRG hospital in Jhalawar last night for medical examination and the report is awaited, the SHO said.
