A 50-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured when a minor boy driving his father's car lost control over it and hit them in outer Delhi's Kanjhawla road.

The incident took place yesterday evening when the 17-year-old boy hit Meena Devi.

Seeing a mob charging towards him, the youth tried to flee but ended up hitting three more people on the road. He also hit a cycle-rickshaw, a stall and another car before coming to a halt, police said.

Locals called the police which rushed injured to a nearby hospital where Meena Devi was declared brought dead while the others were treated for their injuries.

Police apprehended the youth who was later produced before a juvenile justice board. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered at Sultanpuri police station.

Medical examination of the juvenile did not find him inebriated when the incident took place.

Meena's body was handed over to her relatives after a post mortem examination.
