Minor fire at railway building; nobody hurt

A minor fire broke out at the railways passenger reservation system (PRS) building here this afternoon, fire brigade officials said.

Nobody was injured in the blaze, though some machinery got damaged.

"There was a heap of garbage lying on the rear side of the PRS building, which is on the northern side of the railway station. Around 2 pm, some people noticed flames arising our of the garbage. Soon the fire spread and two air conditioned and machinery were got damaged in the blaze," a railway official said.

Fire fighters rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames in half an hour.
 

According to Station Superintendent Ravi Narayan Kar, the fire might have been caused due to crackers or smoker.
